Joined with us is Val Jones, a Literacy Instructor for the Tillsonburg and District Multi-Service Centre. Through the funding of United Way Oxford, they can provide support to help older adults strengthen their digital literacy skills, while helping to bridge that gap created by social isolation. This program offers a variety of ways to participate to better ensure those that need the support, get the exact support they are looking for. Kelly chats with United Way Oxford Funded Partner, the Strong Start. Joined with us from their organization are Machelle Denison and Lisa Williams. They share how United Way funding has made their work possible, and how supporting the work of String Start is creating incredible opportunities for young people to strengthen their literacy skills through fun and engaging activities. Due to the impact that COVID had on the learning patterns of young people, this program is needed now more than ever to help ensure that they are on the right track to succeed, as they delve deeper into their educational journey.
