We are living in a time of tremendous change in the world, perhaps even a transition between epochs. Using our thought and speech to the best we can on this show, we commit to navigate the questions and challenges of such times.
We take a spirit and intention of harmony and holistic thinking as our guide, seeking to avoid many either/or pitfalls that too easily result in confusion, disintegration, and harm.
This does not mean rendering everything limply neutral and “moderate,” for we primarily believe in a harmony between curious openness and strong boundaries.
We lament the loss of meaning, purpose and virtue that many modern people experience, but can also critique older notions whose blind spots got us here, or examine nefarious schemes currently pushing anti-life agendas—even if these are publicly presented as “evolved,” “enlightened,” and “inevitable.”
We can enjoy the spread of ideas and resources, the increased mobility and interconnectivity in a globalized world, while fiercely advocating for the beautiful distinctions that mark the continued stories of unique peoples and cultures--of course most apt to address and rehabilitate our own as men of European descent.
We believe in truth, beauty and goodness and see how irony and nihilism are wrecking peoples’ lives.
All the while we insist on a generous spirit where appropriate and keep a lightness in our hearts, for the world certainly doesn’t need any more bitterness.
Please join us if this intrigues you.

28 GIU 2021 · Repurposing pop culture
convergence of awakenings
creative activism
above left and right
24 APR 2021 · Our seed topic was trends in tech indicating a denial of death and mortality in our culture…
and we certainly spoke much about that, as well confronting death, health and harmonious living.
3 APR 2021 · Yizz joins with her co-host, Kizza, to discuss his "Mirror of Veritas."
This is a concept in development, stemming from Kizza's professional
work as an engineer, to bring more accountability and liability t
public thinkers, writers, teachers, and leaders.
We test the concept in both societal and smaller scale applications.
20 MAR 2021 · Loralee Scaife returns, incidentally on the spring equinox.
Our seed topic is her experiences growing up during the 1950s and 1960s.
Many rightly see the degeneracy of today but then go on to simply
glorify the 1950s while vilifying the 1960s. We will, as always,
take both a more nuanced and wider perspective.
Themes of meaning, spirituality, and reanimating myths also factored into the discussion.
12 SET 2020 · ~Topics included~
-How type/class in the social order is not discussed enough at present, creating confusion.
-The will for individual self-expression in a time when we’re told
there “are no rules” and everyone should “be themselves”–how to the contrary, this is actually limiting.
-European man’s blind spots and Achilles’ heel as regards looking outward
to the rest of the world with curiosity.
The pros and cons of this, if multiculturalism could have meant something different.
-Addressing a listener who asked why artists are drawn to cities,
re-imaginings of what landscapes and living spaces could look like in a theoretical future.
8 SET 2020 · Another unplanned show that ended up discussing
the lack of nuance in modern discourse and how this takes power away from people,
holistic health, the perils of the law of diminishing returns (the principle of addiction)
versus appreciating returns,
presence and community around food in Italy,
a commenter asking us on our religious outlooks,
and more.
5 SET 2020 · This unplanned “wildcard” conversation began with exploring the nature
of communicating publicly in the Internet age and developed
into various directions that all centered around the notions of
presence and deliberate, conscious choices in one’s life.
These themes were explored with an eye on re-claiming these parts of ourselves,
indeed integrating ourselves, not as a way to deny or
walk away from the modern world, but to help heal it.
29 AGO 2020 · John is an American who moved to Europe;
I live in America but have certain connections to Europe and
have always been drawn to aspects of the lifestyles there.
We discuss points of similarity and difference, ranging from
24 AGO 2020 · Originally streamed Aug 24, 2020.
John gives his post-show analysis & bring his questions to Jared and comments
to follow up on the recent TAP episode regarding Eastern Orthodoxy–
a different side of the Occident’s story to counter modern madness.
It’s a topic we don’t know much about but find interesting.
Much here about what religion actually is, personal questions, the modern attacks on truth and meaning…
