12 APR 2025 · So, in today’s episode, I’m reading a children’s book that I’ve written called “Cheston’s World: Finding My Voice, One Story at a Time”.
Cheston, a young boy with Autism, was invited by his coding teacher to speak at a local advocacy event called Ways For Your Voices To Be Heard. But there was just one problem—talking about his journey scared him. One of the challenges he faces with Autism is that sometimes his words get jumbled, making it hard to share his thoughts in order.But thanks to storyboarding, Cheston learned how to organize his ideas and tell his story HIS way. At the event, he spoke about:
💙 His fear of public speaking
💙 How storyboarding turned him into a self-published author
💙 The power of EVERYONE’S story—no matter how they tell itAnd guess what? People listened.
Kids got excited about his books. Parents wanted to learn more. And one kid even said, "I think I wanna write a book too!"That moment showed Cheston why his voice mattered—why ALL voices matter. Now, he’s dreaming even bigger, planning to take his Traveling Bookstore RV across the country to spread the message of inclusion, acceptance, and the power of words.And of course, he closed with his favorite reminder: YOU ARE GREAT JUST THE WAY THAT YOU ARE!

Today, I'm going to read one of my favorite stories, "You Can Do It, We'll Help You Through It: My Journey to Conquering My Hospital Anxiety."This story is very close to my heart because it's about a boy named Cheston—just like me! Cheston needs to go into the hospital again for another surgery. But, as you might guess, his magical mind is in overdrive and causing him a lot of anxiety about his next hospital visit. His family has tried everything to calm his fears, but nothing seems to work. Cheston is really scared, and he doesn’t know how to help himself feel better about going into the hospital. So, let's dive into the story and follow Cheston on his journey. Will he be able to calm down his magical mind and have a good hospital experience? Let's find out together!
