Independent artificial intelligence is close at hand. Program a computer to think like a human brain, respond to stimuli, leading to robots reproducing starting with the software which is the brains, and then the hardware which is the body. Use Google trends to look at the past, fill in the dots and then predict the future. Spider robots with eight legs, wheels, external transmission, radar and spectrometers to study its own environment, with sensors to come up with the best solution for how to respond to stimuli. The robots will alleviate the world of toil, but they could be a threat to starve, freeze and kill human beings into extinction as was the fate of pre human hominids.
