Shawn Stewart is a professional dog trainer, having personally worked with past presidents and other well-known celebrities over his 27-year career. When not training dogs (really their owners!), Shawn is an avid muscle car enthusiast. When his parents gave Shawn the title to the 1968 AMC AMX 390 they originally brought him from the hospital when he was just a few days old, Shawn decided to restore the well-worn, one family-owned AMX as a "Day 2" street machine. Since completing the one-year-long restoration in 2014, Shawn won an award as one of Dennis Gage's celebrity picks at the famous Dead Man's Curve Hot Rod show held annually in New Jersey. Then in 2019, writer Scotty Lachenauer from Hot Rod magazine featured Shawn's "Plan B" AMX in the May 2019 print edition of Hot Rod magazine. Nick is a dear friend who has amassed an interesting collection of 28 classic cars over the past 34 years. The collection started with a family-owned 1984 Porsche 944 he was able to buy at age 16 and that he continues to drive to this day. Nick provides an overview of what is in his classic car collection, which consists of mostly German RAD Era (1980-1999) classics combined with a 1980 Rolls Royce.

Since starting the Guys with Rides franchise five years ago, some have felt the need to criticize the use of the word “guys” in our brand. As far as I'm concerned, the term “car guys” is a gender-neutral pronoun. No one epitomizes that fact more than Michaela Brass, AKA Miss Mopar, a passionate Mopar fan as far back as she can remember, Michaela is an enthusiastic car guy who wants to do everything she can to keep the classic car hobby alive.

I believe there is a story under the hood of every classic car. That's why I created the Guys With Their Rides Podcast, where I feature fellow classic car enthusiasts with interesting classic cars and the neat stories each one tells. Koenig Specials GmbH is a Munch-based German car tuner specializing in cosmetic and engine modifications to various luxury brands. The German tuner gained notoriety in the 1980s and 1990s for its wide-body strake-sided conversions that mimic Ferrari Testarossas of the period, are mostly famous for Ferrari conversions, lesser known as the is the fact that Koenig also offered a variety of Mercedes-Benz and even Jaguar conversions. While most of Koenig's Mercedes conversions centered on the SL and S class coupes, the company also produced a handful of wide-body SEL-based sedan models. This podcast highlights one such example. It's a 1987 W126 560 SEL that was originally converted when new at the Koenig facility. Following his untimely passing in 2013, the original owner bequeathed it to his best friend, who continues to own the car to this day. The following is my interview with Lou, the second owner of this ‘87 Koenig Special. Lou has some great stories during his eleven years of ownership.
