22 SET 2020 · Ending my on-air participation in this podcast, I spent a short amount of time reflecting on some of the accomplishments we made. The bulk of this episode is to issue a challenge to those facing adversity, uncertainty, and a sense of helplessness. Through preparation, goal-setting, and steady progress we can overcome these challenges. "How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time". Slow and steady wins the race!

8 SET 2020 · Life isn't always fair. We don't always get out of it what we put into it. But we can't just roll onto our backs like a dog who lost the fight. As American Revolutionary Thomas Paine is credited as saying, you can "lead, follow, or get out of the way". So, when you are at a crossroads, it's important to choose your path wisely.
In this episode, I share just a sample of the challenges faced by my son, Kenny, and me. I also make suggestions based on the decisions we made that had successful outcomes. So, as my wife Celia always says, keep what you like, and leave the rest.

12 AGO 2020 · The first steps to manhood typically begin with a game of catch in the backyard. This is when the father gets to be teacher to the son, who is a captive and engaged audience. In this episode, Ken lays out the underpinnings of the relationship he currently has with his son, Kenny. Using baseball as a backdrop, Kenny as been able to take the life lessons learned to raise his daughter. This series will stretch over the course of several episodes.
28 LUG 2020 · In this episode, Ken introduces you to his not quite obsession, baseball. From being a form of personal expression to it's use as a parenting, the sport has been an integral part of the lives of Ken and his son. In this, and future episodes, Ken will bring you the highs and lows of America's Pastime in it's roles of friend, teacher, and lifelong companion.
15 LUG 2020 · Golf and stamp collecting are typical hobbies taken up by retirees. I'm looking for a cause to take up. Or maybe several causes. This episode is the first brainstorming session of the DMMG post-retirement committee. More to follow in future episodes.

3 GIU 2020 · Welcome to Season 2! When I signed off on 04/27/2020, I thought this podcast was permanently shuttered. I even began posting episodes from my new podcast, "Freelancer Survival Stories". However, I discovered that this show still had relevance.
Since my own survival story was still evolving, and I wanted to highlight the stories of others on my new show, it made sense to restart this show and use it as a vehicle to talk directly to you, my friends. It's great to be back!
15 APR 2020 · In times of hardship, many people have a tendency to be governed by fear. Fear of not getting what you want. Also, fear of losing what you have. We are currently living under a cloud of uncertainty.
It is during challenging times that our true character comes to the forefront. We can have all the degrees in the world, the corner office, the summer home, etc. Those thing are nice, but are potentially fleeting.
How do we behave in times of crises. Do we panic? Or do we trick ourselves into thinking that our thoughts, feelings, and ideas are the only ones that matter?
The solutions may come from unlikely people and places. They may also be right in front of our eyes. Let's stay calm, keep fear in check, and know the value of free advice. It's sometimes the most valuable!

8 APR 2020 · The medical experts strongly advise that all but non-essential workers stay indoors. We can do that. While waiting for the test results to arrive (they came back negative), we were told to act as if we had the virus, which meant quarantining apart. Now that presented a unique challenge. We've been inseparable since the day we met, and we hesitated to be apart.
This episode is dedicated to couples who maintain close bonds through good times and bad. Be strong, have faith, believe in the God-Given knowledge imparted on the doctors and scientists! We humans are a strong species. We have to be because the rest of the world is depending on us!

25 MAR 2020 · We're living in uncertain times. It seems like we're getting our heads around the risks of COVID-19, aka Coronavirus. Diagnosis, treatment, and hopefully cure, are the great mysteries.

4 MAR 2020 · When most people reach a fork in the road, they need to determine the path forward. For me, it means that I'm lost! And when I get lost, the solution is always to retrace my steps. From bad habits, to destructive vices, and to a recent health scare, the way out was always to slow down, take a step back, and remember the steps I took in the past to achieve success. I also looked at the part I played and what actions I would take to clean the crap up!
