Chapter 1:
I’ve always kept diaries, ever since I was a child. I’ve documented my daily life in journals carefully labeled on the sides and covers so as to keep them in order. I’m on my 1,033rd journal, and all of them are kept in order on bookshelves. It’s basically a ledger of my entire life.
Or, at least, it was, until my house burned down and I lost all of them. All of them, except for one that I never wrote.

Chapter 1:
The following are extracts from the diary of my great great granduncle, who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Philippine-American war. Doing research on him, his records say that he was dishonorably discharged from the Marine Corps due to drunkeness. Reading through these entries, I think I understand why he turned to the bottle during his last year in service.

I can still remember the baby’s cries. I can still remember the sight of the mother going around the village, carrying her injured child, begging for help. The baby was a goner, we all knew that. With one arm ripped off by a bullet and blood spilling everywhere, it was a miracle that the baby still had enough energy to cry. The baby was strong, I got to hand him that, but no strength was enough to save him.

12 NOV 2024 · 🔪 Creepypasta Title: I'm a cop and was bored one night, so I looked through old police reports and found one that is very interesting. They called it "The Doomsday Report."
Chapter 1:
So I was recently promoted to detective from the Patrol Division. I wouldn't exactly say there's a lot of downtime but being behind a desk now there's certainly a LOT more than when I was on the street.
Anyway, I was bored one night after wrapping up a case. There was only about 45 minutes left in the shift and generally they aren't going to dispatch you to anything with less than an hour left unless it's something big like a murder or bank robbery. I decided to pass the time looking through old police reports for anything good or "juicy."
Now that they're all on the computer you can bring up reports as far back as 30 years in just a couple seconds. I quickly found this wasn't exactly the best way to pass the time and was getting bored after about 5 minutes before I stumbled across a report filed in 2003. This particular report started out as a simple shooting but quickly escalated to something even bigger and more sinister.

I’ve never been good at making friends, or any type in bond with people in general, I’m not even close to most of my family members like I’m close to Jesse. Jesse is my best friend, I’ve known her only for a year and a half but she’s literally my world. She’s the only person I can speak to, the only person who understands me.
I’ve never slept over at anyones house that isn’t mine, and even when I’m supposed to be staying at a family members house I get anxious and they have to call my parents to collect me, this results in my parents having to cancel everything that they plan. My parents resent me, I’m a huge burden to them because of just how anxious I am.

I’ve lived my entire life in a holler on the outskirts of Wyoming County, West Virginia, deep in the mountains of Appalachia. It’s a place so remote most folks don’t even know it exists on a map. Just a handful of families, and dense, unforgiving woods. This place doesn’t have neighborhoods, doesn’t have sidewalks, and most definitely does not have trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Halloween isn’t a holiday here. It’s a test.

It was such an incredible party. Genuinely, if I had to pick out the most happy and wonderful moments of my life, that Halloween party would have been one of them. That's why it hurts so much to remember it. It makes me want to break down crying whenever I think about the terrible, awful thing that happened right under our noses, and how none of us even noticed. It feels so obvious, looking back on it now. Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.
I wouldn't say I'm a particularly unsocial person, I think I get along with people quite well once I've gotten to know them, but something about making that first step of initial contact just always seemed so difficult. I always felt incredibly awkward being introduced to strangers, and while I can mask that discomfort fairly well, it does mean that I tend to adopt a slightly stilted and formal attitude whenever I'm meeting new people.

Tracy doesn’t hate people on purpose. She’s not like that. It’s her paintings. They hate people. I remember her very first one. She was still a kid. She painted a scantily clad woman sitting cross-legged in a field of tall grass, a cluster of threatening clouds looming overhead.
It was quite remarkable; the woman’s auburn hair blowing wistfully in the breeze, as she gazes across the minty meadow stretching over the languid landscape. However, upon closer inspection, something about it was deeply disturbing. For starters, the clouds were moving. It took a while to notice. They’d sift along gingerly, like unholy apparitions, high above the woman in the wayward dress.
My sister was proud of it. So were my parents, who quickly pointed out my obvious lack of artistic merit. Hell, I could barely scribble a stick person, let alone a full-sized painting with blended colors, depth and ingenuity. No one knew how she did it.
