Post MLB All-Star Game Sex Panther
22 LUG 2024 · On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don talk about some of the happenings after the MLB All-Star Game. We start with some of the promotions with Jacob Wilson’s bad injury luck, Nacho(ooooo) Alvarez Jr., and Tyler Phillips coming off a strong start.
Next up, we talk about a few big name starting pitchers that are returning in Kodai Senga, Robbie Ray, and Clayton Kershaw. Then, it’s on to everyone’s favorite game, except for Grey, Scientific Fact, Sex Panther, or I Don’t Believe You for some players that have started the 2nd half hot.. After that, we move on to a trade edition of bullpen talk and waiver wire options.
Grey's 2nd Half Top 100
16 LUG 2024 · On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, B_Don asks Grey about his Top 100 rankings for the 2024 2nd half. Not much argument about the top players, but some new faces to the top of the rankings from pre-season in guys like CJ Abrams, Elly De La Cruz, Tarik Skubal, and Jarren Duran. Grey has a trio of starting pitchers in the top 20 and none of them was Paul Skenes.
If you’ve owned Ozzie Albies, Julio Rodriguez, Matt Olson, or any other early season strugglers, see what Grey thinks they might be worth if you can’t look at them on your team any longer or what they might give you in the 2nd half. William Contreras continues to be the Rodney Dangerfield of catchers as he still can’t get any respect as the #1 or even the #2 catcher in the rankings.
Wyatt Langford, James Wood, and Ceddanne Rafaela have finished the 1st half strong and Grey has each of these young stars in the ranks. Where do Grey’s less liked players fall? Did he actually rank Lane Thomas? No matter what the ranks say, go get whatever your team needs to finish the season strong and take that ‘ship.
All Star Break MLB Not Not News Special
13 LUG 2024 · Grey is joined by Donkey Teeth and comedian Billy Hurley for a very special all-star break show. The guys count down the top five wacky baseball news stories from the first half of the 2024 MLB season. The stories include Angel Hernandez's abrupt retirement, the Athletics relocation to Sacramento, see-through uniforms, the Grimace Effect, and more!
All-Star Snubs
9 LUG 2024 · On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don talk about the All Star Game Rosters and some players we think should have been included along with our thoughts on improving the festivities. After we get through that, we move on to the call ups from the week with Brooks Lee leading the pack. Along with Brooks, who had to get busy living, Shane Baz is back, Justin Wrobleski, Xavier Edwards, Christian Scott, and a couple others.
James Wood Has Arrived
2 LUG 2024 · Grey and B_Don are back for another episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast. James Wood has been called up by the Nationals and you should be excited! For the first time in podcast history, Grey teaches somebody else how to pronounce a name when we talk about Jhonkensy Noel of the Guardians. Several other pitching call ups were made with guys like David Festa, Valenta Bellozo, Hayden Birdsong, and Davis Daniel along with the return of Graham Ashcraft and Josh Winckowski.
We continue the show with some discussion about Julio Rodriguez’s continued struggles and throw some names out to see where his value sits these days for us. On the opposite side, is the Jarred Kelenic breakout finally here after a strong June? We wrap the show with some bullpen news, waivers wire bats, and streaming pitching options.
Prorating Royce Lewis
25 GIU 2024 · This week on the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don start the show with Orelvis Martinez’s fertility issues. We move on to discuss the call ups of the week in Heston Kjerstad, Angel Martinez, and Ben Rice.
We talk about how amazing Royce Lewis is and where he might fall among the rankings next year if he can manage to finish out the season healthy. Wyatt Langford has turned it on after his return, but what do his numbers look like the rest of the season. We discuss Paul Skenes place among starting pitchers. There’s some trivia involving the player rater, bullpen talk, and waiver options to close out the show.
Problems With Betts
18 GIU 2024 · On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don talk about the injury bombs being dropped on teams. What’s the news on the injury? Who is replacing them? And what leagues are they worth grabbing?
We start with the Dodgers who lost Mookie Betts and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, as magically, Bobby Miller is ready to return. Corbin Carroll had an injury scare that sounds like it should be alright, but where does he fall among players rest of season for each of us. Michael Harris II is heading to the IL for the Braves and their backup options are abysmal.
Noelvi Marte is due back at the end of the month, but is he worth stashing? Anthony Rizzo is banged up, and they may have to move some pieces around to fill in for him; at least they are getting Gerrit Cole back.
We talk about the return of Trea Turner and where we have him rest of season. Where does Shane Baz fit among starting pitchers for the rest of the season? The Rangers have some support coming in Max Scherzer and Josh Jung. Joey Loperfido, DJ Herz, and Carson Spiers are getting an opportunity. We wrap up talking about the Blue Jays closer situation, waiver wire hitters, and streaming pitchers.
Reporting B_Don To H.R.
11 GIU 2024 · On this week’s episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don talk about the recent call ups and what these players might do for your teams. Can Hurston Waldrep and Drew Thorpe help your pitching? What about Adael Amador and Tyler Locklear for your offense?
Then, we move on to some of the unexpected names at the top of the 30 day player rater. Heliot Ramos has been hitting since his promotion. Is this the time that he sticks? Luis Gil has been a stud, and are you allowed to say what your own over/under bet would be if you set the line? Nolan Gorman may have been dropped across the board in April, but somebody has been benefiting from his numbers over the last month.
Who Is The New #1?
3 GIU 2024 · On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don start the show with the end of Angel Hernandez’s career and how Jorge Lopez figured out how to escape the Mets. After that, we move on to some call ups in Henry Davis, Connor Norby, Justyn-Henry Malloy, and Pete Crow-Armstrong.
After the prospect talk, we move on to discuss who the new #1 overall should be for the rest of the season. With the return of Wyatt Langford, we run through a game of which disappointing outfielder would you rather roster. With the injury bug running through the pitching landscape, are any of the injury replacements worth picking up? We wrap up the show with a couple big closer injuries, waiver wire bats, and streaming pitchers options for your roster.
Acuna Needs New Knees
28 MAG 2024 · On this week's episode of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don do their best to support each other through these tough times as the #1 player from 2023, Ronald Acuña Jr., has received some terrible injury news. What does it mean for the Braves lineup and who might be coming in for more playing time?
As we’ve reached a third of the way through the season, the guys discuss how you might approach players that are not performing up to standards. Julio Rodriguez hasn’t performed up to his high standards, but both of us are shocked about the Mariners choice to move him in the lineup. JRod was once the hot call up, but are there any prospects this year that you should be rostering to get ahead of the impending FAAB spending.
We go through some of the AL east pitching to discuss a couple of possible breakouts in Clarke Schmidt and Tanner Houck. The Orioles had their rotation shaken up due to injury, but are there any opportunities to take advantage of in their replacements. The show ends as usual with some bullpen SAGNOF talk, waiver wire pickups, and streaming options.
