22 AGO 2016 · It may not be an official event at Rio 2016, but pin trading is a hugely popular pastime for athletes, staff members, volunteers and supporters at any Olympic Games. We went down to the Olympic Village to find out more and spoke to Rome Milan who owns around 12,000 pins.

20 AGO 2016 · Ghanaian- born British boxer Joshua Buatsi describes what it’s like to come away from Rio 2016 with an Olympic medal, after taking bronze in the light-heavyweight category. He tells Tom Ellis about the impact of his faith on his sport and of the sacrifices and pressures involved in competing at this level.

17 AGO 2016 · A group of 30 refugees from different nations were welcomed to the Olympic Stadium to cheer on the Refugee Olympic Team in the athletics at Rio 2016. Gambian Mariama Bah, who has been living in Rio for the past two years, believes the participation of refugees at the Games sends an important message. In an interview with Tom Ellis, she makes an emotional call for more opportunities for refugees to be seen and heard.

16 AGO 2016 · At school Lynique was into sport in a big way, as many South Africans are. But a time came where she had to choose one discipline from all the sport she enjoyed. Norman Brierley asks Lynique about the choice she made.

16 AGO 2016 · While tourists flock to Copacabana and Christ the Redeemer, and the eyes of the world rest on Rio’s Olympic Games, we take a walk around the community of Curicica – not far from the Olympic Park – to hear what people living there make of the Games and how they might be affected. Paulo and Felipe, from the local baptist church, take us on a tour of the area and introduce us to some of the issues faced by its residents.

15 AGO 2016 · Australian swimmer Daniel Smith dreamed of representing his country since the age of five. But his life spiralled out of control as he became caught up in a life of drink, drugs and crime. He tells the story of how he went ‘through hell and back’, before being selected for the Olympic Games in Rio, and of how his faith has made him a new person.

14 AGO 2016 · 60m and 100m sprinter Carina Horn had a great 2015 season and equalled the South African 100m national record in a time of 11.06, a record which had not been equalled or broken for 25 years. Carina missed out on the 2012 Olympics and was disappointingly left out of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. However, this increased her motivation to do something at the Rio Olympic Games. She speaks to Norman Brierley.

12 AGO 2016 · Michael Johnson had a distinguished career in track and field where he won 4 Olympic Gold medals and 8 World Championships and still holds the 400m world record of 43.18 seconds. He has been the only one to win both the 400m and the 200m at the same Olympics. Since retiring from the track in 2000, Johnson has continued to develop sports business opportunities as well as acting as an athletics pundit and been involved in charitable sports ventures such as the Laureus programme. Passion For Sport reporter Norman Brierley asked Mr Johnson what was the most significant part of his illustrious career so far and asked him if progress was being made on the issue of drug abuse in the sport.

11 AGO 2016 · Kenyan Tegla Loroupe made a name for herself during the late nineties as a marathon and half marathon runner. She won the World Half Marathon five times. Since her retirement she has devoted herself to bringing peace into peoples lives and more recently in heading up the Refugee Olympic Team at Rio 2016. Norman Brierley asked Tegla Loroupe how she got involved with the refugees and even became their Chef de Mission for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
