26 FEB 2025 · Betty, a high school dropout who left school in the 10th grade, spent the majority of her life employed as a cashier and waitress. Throughout her life, she entered into five marriages. She had killed her husband, a firefighter, in order to obtain his life insurance benefits amounting to $100,000 and his pension. His remains were found in a wishing well on their property, which was adorned with a flower garden. Additionally, police uncovered the skeletal remains of her fourth husband, Doyle Wayne Baker, buried beneath a storage shed on the premises. Baker had also been shot, and his disappearance had remained a mystery until the investigation into her fifth husband led to the search of her property. She became known as the "Killer Granny."

14 FEB 2025 · On October 4, 2004, the lifeless and partially clothed body of nineteen-year-old Courtney Coco was discovered in a derelict building along Farm to Market Road 1406, close to Interstate 10 in Winnie, Texas. Originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, Courtney was last seen alive around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Despite various leads emerging during the investigation, the case eventually went cold. It wasn't until fifteen years later that authorities arrested a suspect—who had been engaged to Courtney's sister in 2004—for her murder. The trial ensued and a jury in Rapides Parish reached a unanimous verdict.

25 GEN 2025 · A callous woman who concealed her infant in a drawer beneath her bed until the child was discovered just weeks shy of their third birthday has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. The child was found in their residence in Cheshire, exhibiting matted hair, physical deformities, and rashes, as reported by Chester Crown Court.

1 GEN 2025 · It wasn’t easy being Anne Plue Gates’ husband. In fact, in two out of three cases, it was deadly. The murder charges brought against a woman in connection with the fatal beating of her estranged second husband have piqued the interest of a law enforcement officer from Indiana, who previously investigated the death of her first husband. Deputies said Mrs. Gates, who had been living with her parents in Picayune, Mississippi, was the beneficiary of her husband’s $82,000 life insurance policy. Anne Gates will be eternally recognized in Louisiana as the Black Widow of New Orleans. Join us to witness her sentencing and observe the court's approach to this case.

1 GEN 2025 · Mark James Robert Essex (August 12, 1949 – January 7, 1973) was an American serial sniper and black nationalist known as the "New Orleans Sniper" who killed a total of nine people, including five police officers, and wounded twelve others, in two separate attacks in New Orleans on December 31, 1972, and January 7, 1973. Essex was killed by police in the second armed confrontation.
Essex is believed to have specifically sought to kill white people and police officers due to racism he had previously experienced while enlisted in the Navy. His increasingly extremist anti-police, black supremacist, and anti-white views are believed to have solidified following a November 1972 violent clash between Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies and student civil rights demonstrators, during which two young black demonstrators were shot and killed.
