18 AGO 2026 · What happens when worship stops being a routine and becomes a response to the presence of God? In this message, Rick takes us into one of Scripture’s most vivid scenes: David dancing before the Lord as the ark enters Jerusalem. It’s a picture of joy, reverence, humility, and wholehearted devotion all at once. And through David’s story, we’re invited to ask what it really means to worship—not just with our words, but with our whole lives. More than that, this message points us beyond David to Jesus, the One who brings us near to God with confidence and awe. If you’ve ever felt distracted, reserved, or unsure what true worship looks like, this conversation will gently call you back to the wonder of God’s presence. 18 AGO 2026 · Pride can make even a faithful person lose their way in a moment. In this sermon, we step into the story of David, Nabal, and Abigail—and see how quickly anger can take over, how wisdom can interrupt destruction, and how God’s grace meets us when we’re about to become our worst selves.
As Felix Chan opens 1 Samuel 25, this message invites us to look honestly at our own hearts: where pride is unchecked, where we’re tempted to pick up the sword, and where God may be sending a voice of truth to pull us back. It’s a timely word about humility, restraint, and the kind of grace that not only forgives us, but saves us from ourselves. 30 LUG 2026 · What does it truly mean to be a person of integrity—and do you actually live that way when no one is watching? Pastor Len opened Scripture to reveal the remarkable contrast between King Saul, who deflected blame onto others, and David, a flawed but honest man who owned his failures and kept his promises even when it cost him dearly. Despite having Saul completely at his mercy in a cave, David refused to seize the throne ahead of God's timing—because what he believed in private governed what he did in public. Pastor Len offered a piercing definition: integrity isn't a polished performance; it's the absence of a mask. It's the same person in the shadows as in the spotlight. He challenged the congregation with a three-legged stool of leadership—competence, character, and compassion—reminding us that skills can be taught, but integrity must be cultivated from the inside out, and it cannot be sustained without the power of the Holy Spirit. The invitation is this: don't just absorb good information—act on it. Seek out one relationship where you are being discipled, and one where you are discipling someone else. Your integrity journey starts now, in community, today. If you are interested in joining our service in-person, you can visit us each Sunday at 9:30am CST. 21 LUG 2026 · What do you do when fear is so loud it drowns out everything you know to be true? Pastor Dawn opens her message by walking us through one of David's most vulnerable moments: a man anointed by God, fleeing for his life, lying to a priest, and eventually drooling on himself to fake insanity. Yet even through this, God's grace refuses to quit. Pastor Dawn draws out a striking truth: David ran toward God's presence first, but fear quickly hijacked his instincts, replacing faith with frantic self-reliance by hoarding weapons, spinning lies, and trusting his own plans over God's provision. With honest, personal vulnerability, Pastor Dawn reminds us that our "swords"—our backup plans, our need for control, our carefully curated appearances—become dangerous the moment they replace God as our source of safety. Yet the story doesn't end in humiliation. Jesus himself points back to this very moment, declaring that relationship with God always trumps rigid ritual, and that He is the bread of presence, the Good Shepherd, the Lord of our fears. As a church community, we are called to gather around one another, speak truth into each other's panic, and taste the goodness of a God who pursues us even through our worst failures. Run to Him—He is already running toward you. If you are interested in joining our service in-person, you can visit us each Sunday at 9:30am CST. 21 LUG 2026 · What if the greatest underdog story ever told is actually about something far bigger than one boy with a sling? Josh opens 1 Samuel 17 not as a simple tale of courage, but as a story pointing toward humanity's deepest need. Through Hebrew word study, Josh reveals that Goliath's armor carries the root letters for snake, his scale-covered body an unmistakable echo of the serpent in Eden, defying the armies of the living God. The forty-day challenge, the crushed head, the stone sinking like Pharaoh's army; every detail pulses with Israel's history and cries out toward a future Shepherd who would also refuse the world's weapons, step into the valley, and fight the real Goliath: sin and death itself. Josh's invites us to step slightly to the side of the window we've always looked through, revealing not just a good tree, but an entire garden. We're reminded that our own stumbles don't disqualify us from pursuing the living God. If you are interested in joining our service in-person, you can visit us each Sunday at 9:30am CST. 21 LUG 2026 · What if the very thing holding you back from God isn't your failures—but your obsession with looking like you have it all together? Pastor Michael opens Cornerstone's summer series "Failing While Following" by diving into 1 Samuel 16, where God sends the prophet Samuel to anoint an unlikely king. Not the tall, impressive sons Jesse proudly presented, but David, the forgotten shepherd boy left out in the field. Michael brings a refreshingly honest perspective, admitting his own struggle with comparison in a culture saturated by polished preachers and perfect highlight reels. David's greatness wasn't his resume, it was his relentless return to God after every failure. Cornerstone's purpose to "seek, obey, and reflect Jesus" isn't a checklist; it's a heart posture. Whether you feel forgotten like David in that field, or exhausted from trying to measure up, the invitation is the same: stop performing and start pursuing. Jesus doesn't just call you to a new heart—He promises to form one in you. If you are interested in joining our service in-person, you can visit us each Sunday at 9:30am CST. 21 LUG 2026 · What if the greatest battle you face isn't with the people around you—but with an unseen enemy working to unravel everything God has built in you? Closing out Cornerstone's series in Ephesians, Pastor Dawn opens Ephesians 6 with a striking reminder: every follower of Jesus is already in a spiritual battle, whether they've chosen to engage or not. Drawing from Paul's image of Roman soldiers suiting up for war, Dawn walks through each piece of the armor of God—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word—not as abstract theology, but as living, breathing protection for real struggles in marriage, work, private life, and community. With refreshing honesty, she confessed her own weakness in prayer, reminding us that prayer isn't a footnote to the armor—it's the activator that brings it all to life. She urged Cornerstone to resist two dangerous extremes: dismissing spiritual battle altogether, or becoming so focused on the enemy that Jesus disappears from view.
