She currently works as the chief scientist of Myriad Pharmaceuticals, and works as a researcher on the fields of pharmacology and chemistry of nicotine, and the fields of safety and quality of ENDS/ENNDS. As a community leader and as a pharmacist Eliana has worked closely with New Zealand most vulnerable populations including people with addictions, rainbow minorities, homeless populations and refugees.

The report mainly focused on adverse health effects and the risks associated with e-cigarettes. Following the publication, three leading scientists contesting the conclusions of the report.
