Lynette is a Physician’s Assistant and received her Master’s Degree in Geriatric Medicine. She began her career working in internal medicine.
In January 2018 she joined the staff of US House of Representative Andy Kim. Congressman Kim represents the 3rd District of NJ. In her role as Senior Advisor, she works closely with the community to advocate for Seniors, Caregivers, Veterans and First Responders.
Prior to joining Congressman Kim’s staff, she was the Executive Director for Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey and developed their Alzheimer’s Respite Care Program.
In 2009, she founded Caregiver Canines®, a home visiting therapy dog program for the homebound elderly, those with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.
In addition to working professionally with caregivers, Lynette was the caregiver for her mother who lived with her and passed away March 2020 of Alzheimer’s disease and her father who died in 2011 with Vascular Dementia.

Amanda is the managing attorney at Singleton Legal PLLC in St. Petersburg, Florida.
As an AARP family caregiving expert, she writes and speaks on financial and legal issues that affect caregivers, a subject that has defined her personal and professional life since she was 30, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer and immediately required full-time care.
The experience left Amanda “emotionally, physically, mentally and financially devastated,” she says, but it also set her on a path to becoming an advocate for caregivers.
Singleton Legal, which she founded and now operates with her partner and husband, Ryan, counsels past, present and expectant caregivers. Amanda also founded and operates Caregivers in the Workplace, which trains employers to better serve employees who are family caregivers.

Gina earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and has over 25 years of service in the field of corporate training and education. Gina is the founder of Clarify Success, an organization dedicated to offering people the hope and help they need to create lives of joy.
24 LUG 2020 · During our Beginning Again Retreat, Deb Hallisey will discuss her career change and share how her grief has evolved since her father’s death.
Deb is a past and present family caregiver and a Certified Caregiving Consultant. Deb used the knowledge she had gained during her caregiving experience to develop www.AdvocateforMomandDad.com. The site offers practical advice for caregivers and learn from others how they handled challenges on issues such as legal, financial, insurance, and caregiving.
Deb’s book, “Our Caregiver Relationship Contract," is based on personal experience as her mother’s caregiver and through personal stories illustrate how her relationship with her mom changed in a positive way.

24 LUG 2020 · Joan Burn and Melinda Valente discuss the presentations they’ll lead during our Beginning Again Retreat, a virtual event that takes place Aug. 3-7. Joan is a retired estate attorney, certified life coach and a Certified Caregiving Consultant, Educator and Facilitator. She brings her experience caring for her mother long-distance and her experience as an estate attorney to her work as a coach/consultant helping family caregivers caring for a parent. Joan focuses on teaching her clients the skills they need to maximize their time, manage their emotions and make decisions so they can care strong for their parents and themselves.
Melinda, EdD, is a Certified Caregiving Consultant currently living in Los Angeles, CA. In November of 2014, her world was turned upside down when her father was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), the most aggressive type of brain cancer that exists. For 13 months she traveled back and forth from CA to her childhood home in CT to care for her father, who passed away in December of 2015. She received her Bachelor's in Mass Communication and Master's in Communication Industries Management from Emerson College and works there currently in Alumni Relations. Her doctorate is in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University. Additionally, she coaches doctoral students to help them finish their dissertation.

Kathryn is a Certified Senior Advisor®, Certified Caregiving Consultant, and Certified Caregiving Educator and a Licensed Insurance Agent. She is the Founder of Transparent Caregiving Strategies. She offers caregiving consultation and education to family caregivers; and to organizations to help them better assist their employees who are family caregivers.
22 LUG 2020 · Brian and Barry will help us begin to plan for our own future during our Beginning Again Retreat, which takes place Aug. 3-7.
Brian Stumpf guides widows and widowers past their financial stress so they can focus on their healing and what matters most in their lives. When he was young, three of Brian's best friends lost their fathers. This included his girlfriend, now wife of seven years. In each of these circumstances, he witnessed the ways in which families grieve the loss of someone who passes away too young. He saw a widowed spouse faced with a mountain of financial questions at a time when they needed to focus on themselves and their families.
Barry Kozak is the Managing Attorney at Estate Law HELP, and his mission is to educate individuals and families about all aspects of financial wellness, to help them to prioritize their financial goals, and then to implement the legal documents that will assist them in reaching their business succession, retirement, and estate aspirations.
