Dr. Erik Reynolds is a pastor and educator. Before becoming a pastor, Erik served as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) in the United States Army. As an NCO, one of his main responsibilities was training soldiers. This background has given Erik a passion for training Christians in Biblical Studies, Theology, and how to live out their faith. Basic Training seeks to help Christians understand the Bible and the Christian faith through systematic learning. This podcast runs in "seasons" that cover essential topics like New and Old Testament Overview, How To Study The Bible, Theology, and more. 5 NOV 2024 · Have you ever wondered how the United States military turns ordinary citizens into extraordinary soldiers? Basic Training is the initial phase for newly recruited troops, during which they learn everything from hard skills like marksmanship and map reading to soft skills like teamwork and Army values. With 8 years of experience in training soldiers, I think the church should take a similar approach when making disciples and church leaders.
Hi! I’m Dr. Erik Reynolds, and I’ve spent the last 10 years training, pastoring, discipling, and evangelizing up and down the East Coast. You’re invited to join me in learning about God through Basic Training. I provide engaging Christ-centered lessons in OT and NT Overview, Christology, Theology, and How To Study The Bible. Basic Training includes podcast episodes, links to curated resources, and a Summary PDF.
Is Basic Training for you? Yes. This is the outflow of my doctoral work, where I sought to create a platform to disciple and train church leaders at minimal cost. You can purchase a book that coincides with our episodes or listen to the episodes and nothing else. Your approach to Basic Training is entirely up to you.
