5 SET 2026 · Waterfalls are highly needed for ecological balance of flora and fauna lives with subsequent gains to humans, and one such natural waterfalls is the Victoria Falls known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya that is between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Besides the tourism and monetary benefits of the Mosi-oa-Tunya it comes with a biodiverse flora life and those of birds and animals, of which must be protected for future use. Zambia and Zimbabwe must ensure they clean the Victoria fall in the interest of the survival of the forest, animals and fishes for our children and future generations after us to benefit equally from if not more.

In our search as humans for an improved livelihoods per our ecosystem we have erroneously imprisoned innocent animals and fishes that we may have met on this planet in our thousands of zoos and aquariums and fish/water tanks through no fault of theirs, but for our abusive nature, excessive monetary greed in a form called tourism, educational and research purposes.
Thinking as an environmentalist would imply it is long overdue we humans free all animals in zoos and fishes in aquariums and fish/water tanks, so as to stop the stress we place on our partners on this earth for being innocent and allow them to behave normally and in their natural setting, for our common good.

14 LUG 2026 · 'Treat water like one's bank account with its pollution being a withdrawal and its conservation as a savings'.
The above quote must be ingrained in our minds as stated by professor Kweku Andy Kusi-Appiah with further deliberations which is an in-depth analysis of the blue economy from the environmental stewardship standpoint with real life country accounts.
Malawi's blue economy was diagnosed with recommendations aimed at preserving the ecological health of the lake for livelihoods and economic growth of the nation.
Capturing cultural perspective as a part of the blue economy with the careful environmental analysis of the sea per the lyrics of the musician Kofi Kinaata was exemplary highlighted.

13 LUG 2026 · Inasmuch as there is a moratorium on minerals extraction in the seabed, the United States of America (US) government has granted a Canadian company the licence to mine in the international waters, and this is of concern to environmentalists and blue economy experts of over forty (40) countries that are signatories of the International Seabead Authority.
Scientists have categorised these seabed minerals into 4 groups as:
1) Manganese modules or polymetallic nodules that comprises of manganese, cobalt, copper and nickel;
2) Seafloor massive sulphide of copper, gold, zinc, lead, and silver;
3) Cobalt-rich ferromanganese of cobalt, platinum and nickel;
4) Phosphorite nodules of phosphate used in fertilisers, with more to be discovered over time into the future.
Countries that benefit directly from the ocean and coastal resource must join in the scientific search for environmentally friendly ways of minining in the seabed when the moratorium is lifted.

13 LUG 2026 · With humans having almost fully exploited the terrestrial part of earth there is a growing turn to the ocean and coastal resources, and this is where governments must begin thinking and acting alone the lines of sustainability of the blue economy.
Governments of countries that are directly linked to the ocean are putting up policies and wanting to consolidate the various standalone marine and coastal departments into a ministry like that of the Federal Ministry of Blue Economy of Nigeria, Belize's Ministry of Blue Economy and Tanzania Ministry of Blue Economy, so they can harness the economic gains while ensuring sustainability. Fact is the blue economy is valued at about US$7 trillion and growing, with countries wanting a share of the hot money but they must not pollute the source of wealth.
Polluting the ocean with human excreta, domestic waste, agro-chemical run off and industrial waste is not only creating the dead zone in the ocean but also shortening the life span of we humans on earth. Hence we humans must wake up to our responsibility not to pollute the ocean and coastal resources.

11 LUG 2026 · Polluted rivers is a deliberate way of killing not only aquatic life as fishes and the flora life but shortening human life on earth. We humans have polluted sme river bodies as the Odaw, Ganges and Citarum rivers to the extent of a near non-freshening level.
About 70% of the human body is made of water hence it needs clean water to keeping us alive, and so we must take steps to cease polluting our rivers.

10 GIU 2026 · Inasmuch as volcanoes are known largely for their destructive role it does come with some life saving benefits as well and these includes:
(a) source of geothermal energy for electricity generation. Say, Kenya generates over 7,000MW of electricity from the geothermal source in the East African Rift Valley;
(b) Serves as fertiliser for agriculture purposes;
(c) Magma creates an archipelago as in Hawaiian archipelago;
(d) Rain forest evolution at volcano site after it cools down;
(e) Brings about gaseous balance of green house;
(f) Unlocks carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and the environment;
(g) Gives forth other elements that aid in global conducive temperature for human living.

11 APR 2026 · Roots & Reflections on the Environment, is a brief audio presentation but intellectually loaded philology of ecology and its environmentally balanced on the Island of Sanity.
Listeners must synchronise their personality to become wo(men) of thought and wo(men) of action with the earth and its environment, not just for human survival but living luxuriously today while ensuring posterity also benefits from same if not more luxury of the earth and its environment.
28 MAR 2026 · A philosophical podcast on evoking our language use and it's interaction with the environment for action that are tailored for sustainability.
Indigenous language is inherently incorporates ecological balance while modern and post-modern language can push one in taking action or foster environmental degradation. Hence audience must adopt or adapt a language that sees humans as a part of the environment as well as portray a balance with earth for an improved survival.

26 MAR 2026 · Mangroves are very useful ecosystem that must be protected for an improved livelihood for those living by the shores.
Besides medicinal values of the shrubs in the mangrove it serves as protection against sea erosion, as well as breeding and nursery for fishes from the sea. Countries that have mangroves must ensure they are not abused altjpugh their trees are price wise very high and insert resistant. They are a rich carbon source for ecological balance and it houses loads of shellfish.
