As well as continuing in his musical career Noel is also a restorer of top value cars. He works on them as a hobby for a friend who imports them in bits and Noel does the complete body work on them. His most recent project was a Ferrari Californian worth over a million dollars. This man just never stops and is a huge inspiration to all of us.

  • Ausfolkus Noel Balfour Episode 1

9 DIC 2020 · This is a wonderful story about the history of Australian country music from a man who was there from its very early recording days in the 1940's and 1950's. Noel Balfour and his wife Lorna Barry were well known in the music industry. Lorna, who together with Dorothy Davidson formed the Barry Sisters, were regular on Australian television in the late 1950's and early 1960's. They were prolific writers of music with much of their music being embraced nationally and internationally at a time when the communication systems available then were a huge barrier to success of this nature.

In these podcasts I’ll be interviewing many of the musicians, dancers, choristers and teachers from the multitude of folk genres that we are so lucky to be exposed to in this country. These are people who have been in front of you in festivals, concerts and dance demonstrations in some cases for decades. Their names will be well known to you and have in many instances been celebrated by you while watching them or perhaps even participating with them while they ply their wondrous art.
