Oliver's memories of the hospital are vague, but he vividly recalls a near-death experience involving a high-speed journey through a dark tunnel toward a brilliant, calming light. He saw himself from above, then encountered a bright light and Jesus, who communicated through ESP. Jesus reviewed the narrator's life, highlighting both good and bad deeds. Despite the narrator's initial fear and guilt, Jesus reassured him with love and peace. After a journey through a tunnel, the narrator was abruptly pulled back into his body when someone lifted him out of the water, saving his life. Anna feels compelled to reach the Light, but an elastic barrier of water prevents her. As she struggles against this barrier, she realizes the fear and attachment holding her back are her own. Eventually, she manages to merge with the Light, experiencing a profound sense of friendship and understanding. The Light communicates telepathically, teaching Anna to avoid harming others and prompting her to reflect on her feelings and desires.
