No End In Sight- The Cycle Continues

23 AGO 2021 · Not particularly uplifting, but addiction generally isn’t... Trigger warnings: Suicide, drug overdose and death, drug addiction, relapse. Steph shares a poem she wrote on the back of her last relapse... her emotive account depicts a horrific rock-bottom that essentially became her catalyst for change and getting clean She speaks realistically about addiction being a lifelong, chronically relapsing, progressive and fatal illness and why she fears that people will give up on her. Please note that Steph is never trying to glorify the use of drugs or alcohol, but only ever trying to raise awareness and break stigma and shame for the addict (and their families, friends etc) who still suffers. ‘I see you. I feel you. I AM you... You are not alone...’ ~ Steph xx

Trigger warnings: mental health conditions, drug addiction, eating disorders, self-harm, suicide ideation, abuse (sexual, emotional, physical and psychological)

This podcast takes you on the journey of drug addiction recovery and what it looks like from an addicts point of view from day one.

Labelled throughout her life with a myriad of mental health conditions including Substance Abuse Disorder, Anxiety & depression, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, eating disorders and CPTSD, Steph shares on the life she lived that earned her the labels.

Her belief is that shame kills far more people than any mental health issues and her aim is to break shame for herself and others by sharing her story, allowing others to do the same and by living a life of compassion, understanding and acceptance of self and others.

Drug addiction is still heavily stigmatised and Steph wishes to break as much stigma as possible and shed light on the powerlessness of addiction and what it takes to recover and heal.

Steph vows to remain open, raw, honest and vulnerable in the hope that it opens space for others to do the same, to be perfectly imperfect and embrace their shadows as the equal counterparts to their light.

Having combatted severe eating disorders, sexual abuse and domestic violence, she has also battled with substance abuse for the last 24 years, recently achieving 18 months clean and sober through the help of a range of healing modalities- Narcotics Anonymous, psychology, inner child and trauma work, reiki and kinesiology, yoga, meditation and breath work to name a few.

Episode 1 introduces you to Steph during a relapse and she will take you through her recovery one day at a time.

Sending love and healing to all who need it. You are not alone 🙏🏻❤️✨
