In this week's episode, host Phil Tower welcomes Marcel “Fable” Price, executive director of The Diatribe. Marcel “Fable” Price was the poet laureate of Grand Rapids from 2016-2019. Marcel was Grand Rapids' first Poet Laureate of color, the first poet laureate under 40 years old, and the first without a college degree.
He’s also the executive director of The Diatribe, a youth-focused performing arts nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids.
In this conversation, we learn about Marcel's inspiration for becoming a poet and the teacher that inspired him along with a story of a creative force working to make West Michigan a more diverse and inclusive community. Listen and be inspired!
