Douglas Smith took over the Whiskies of the World® Expo, the oldest whisky tasting event in Northern America in 2009. The Expo enjoyed immediate growth on several fronts. In 2011, Douglas entered a strategic alliance with The IWSC Group to strive for even more prominent results for the San Francisco show and for the Whiskies of the World® Expo brand in general.
