A word for the living as we move from method into stewardship.
After #136 — Man, Not the Method, this sermon brings the same message into the Sunday field: the Kingdom does not begin outside of you. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within you” — and that is where the work begins.
The Most High does not first ask what you lack.
He asks what is already in your hand.
Moses had a staff.
David had smooth stones.
The widow had a little oil.
Another widow had a handful of meal and oil.
The disciples had five loaves and two fishes.
Again and again, the Lord used simple things surrendered in obedience to accomplish what no method, formula, or outward appearance could accomplish on its own.
Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
The method may teach.
The tool may assist.
The record may preserve.
But the steward must walk.
This sermon is an encouragement to stop searching for magical papers, perfect formulas, or external validation, and to return to the Kingdom within: truth, clean hands, household order, faithful stewardship, and the next obedient step before the Most High.
Do not despise what is in your hand.
Do not despise the small beginning.
Do not despise the quiet correction.
Surrender what you have.
Walk in truth.
Let the Lord make it sufficient.
