Tom Hanks has rarely been this unlikable, and that's the point. We continue Tom Hanksuary with Nicholas Meyer's Volunteers, starring Hanks as a spoiled Ivy Leaguer who dodges a gambling debt by joining the Peace Corps, landing in Thailand alongside John Candy and Rita Wilson for fun, fellowship, and some light heroin smuggling. It's a weird premise and an even stranger film in execution. Aaron Peterson of The Hollywood Outsider stops by to talk all about Hanks, Candy, and everything else wrong with this strange little comedy.
Aaron Peterson of The Hollywood Outsider joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Tom Hanks, John Candy, the Peace Corps, and so much more.
