Vince Everett Ellison was born on a cotton plantation in Hayward County, Tennessee. He studied at University of Memphis then worked for 5 years at a Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina. He then took a position working with African-American non-profit Organizations. In 2000 he ran for Congress in the South Carolina 6th District. He currently blogs, interviews, conducts podcasts and is a writer.
