The American Legion has made a request to the Federal Court to keep “In God We Trust” on U.S. currency. John Clemens reports this is just the latest legal challenge to the nation's National Motto.

This time, a group of atheists have joined forces with some humanists to file a lawsuit against the federal government demanding the removal of the National Motto “In God We Trust” from U.S. currency. Justin Butterfield of First Liberty is one of the attorneys for the American Legion.

Butterfield said he wanted to remind the atheists and the humanists that “In God We Trust” appears on government buildings across the country, including the House and the Senate Chambers, as well as every federal appeals court to have heard the issue upheld in the past.
