Greg Twemlow's article introduces a concept called the AI-MCP-Powered Network as a revolutionary digital paradigm to overcome the frustrations of the current "application swamp," which is characterised by numerous disconnected software programs. The proposed solution involves Artificial Intelligence acting as the operating system, using a Model Context Protocol (MCP) as a "universal language" to communicate with and orchestrate the functionalities of different software systems. This approach aims to allow users to interact with their digital world based on their intent, rather than navigating complex interfaces, ultimately freeing up human cognitive energy and accelerating productivity. The author suggests this shift has the potential to drive significant societal transformation across various sectors. Read the article.
