mostra di piùThe first sign of this unrest appeared when the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) announced the date for the election.
Major parties in the state, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party, and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), took to the media to question the legality of the entire electoral process, arguing its conflict with national electoral regulations and the inadequate timing for proper preparations and transparency.
Subsequently, they announced their intentions to boycott the exercise, asserting that participating under these conditions would legitimize what they consider a flawed process.
To make sense of these grievances, we were joined on Monday by Mr. Valentine Iyke-Oliobi, the APC Publicity Secretary for Anambra State.
Providing more insights into the parties' complaints, he made interesting revelations, including the alleged plan by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to defect to the Social Democratic Party, SDP soon after the elections.
