Lorraine Simone, M.S. Ed. in Environmental Science, is a visionary and beloved
teacher who effectively bridges the gap between living a spiritual life and the nitty-
gritty of Western culture’s “world of things.” 
 
In 1990, Ms. Simone founded Moonfire Meeting House on Eastern Long Island
and dedicated it to creating community and living in harmony with Earth.
Lorraine established a Women’s Ways Empowerment Circle that year and opened
The Women’s Ways Mystery School in 1995 to offer Rites of Passage and other
Spiritual Initiations to girls and women of all ages and backgrounds. With humor
and devotion, she designs and offers programs, such as Shamanic Visioning in the
New Year, Compassion-in-Communication, A Goddess for All Seasons and
Impeccable Warrior Training for men only. She also teaches workshops that bring
to life her expertise in Deep Ecology, Healing Arts, Women's Mysteries, Creation
Spirituality, and Shamanic Practices. 
 
Lorraine's search for personal and planetary balance through communion with
Earth and the ways of the sacred feminine has led her to Native elders and teachers
from many traditions. When she opened her New York City retail store, Planet
Earth, in 1985, she met Oh Shinnáh Fast Wolf, a renowned Apache-Mohawk
teacher, with whom she maintained an apprenticeship for more than 40 years. Oh
Shinnáh dreamed the Spirit name Deep Arrow Woman for Ms. Simone, as is the
tradition of her people, and performed a naming ceremony for her. Today, Deep
Arrow Woman initiates her own apprentices who form the lifeline of Moonfire
Meeting House and the Women’s Ways Mystery School. 
 
Lorraine is committed to keeping alive and making available to her community the
sacred ways and ceremonies that many Earth-honoring teachers have given her,
including the Sacred Sojourn into the Land of Changing Woman. This is a 10-day
ancient medicine journey and initiation ceremony into sacred waters of the
American Southwest that was passed on to Lorraine from her teacher, Oh
Shinnah.  
 
Lorraine recently created a deck of cards to introduce, inspire, validate, transform
and guide people through the mysteries of the Universe called “Affirming Cosmic
Laws of Creation.” She packaged it with a power pouch that contains all the items
necessary to conduct a Welcome Ritual to deepen their connection with the
