UFC Fighter Sara McMann, who was raised in nearby Marion, NC will be in Charlotte and available for both in-person and phone interviews for the majority of the day to discuss her upbringing in the area, and her upcoming bout with reigning champ, Ronda Rousey in UFC 170 on Saturday, February 22nd. With both of Sara and Ronda being undefeated, the crowd is expected to be sold out at this highly anticipated fight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Sara began wrestling out of McDowell High School in Marion, and continued wrestling at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs where she earned her masters in mental health counseling. After college, she went on to earn a silver medal in wrestling at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens and has gone on to win many other medals for her skills in mixed martial arts. She currently fights out of Gaffney, South Carolina where her husband teaches wrestling at Limestone College.
