Many of us grew up hearing from parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents, teachers, and coaches that whatever child rearing methods they used were beyond critique because, "that's how we were raised, and we turned out okay."

As kids, we had a sense that they were far from okay. As adults, many of us have done enough internal work to reveal and deal with the ways that we did not turn out okay either.

And now, our generation enters the stage of life where who we have been, what we have stood for, and how we have lived has graduated from being the voice of the restless future, to being the sounds of a rattled present, we're beginning to face the feedback from the next generation, our own children.
