We wonder whether the world of monsters is above, below, or within. From Ouija boards to modern keyboards, and from the ink of a quill to that of a pen, man has been engaged in acts of unholy creation for centuries, diving into the depths of both his own mind and the abyss. Much of what we call science fiction is not too far removed not only from science, but from dark magic. We wonder if artificial intelligence is a greater threat than nuclear weapons, or if the latter helped to awaken the former. Perhaps AI is not a threat but some in power wish you to believe such a thing in order to coerce your obedience.
