Ro: Pe un drum serpuit, la poalele munților, Andrei și Elena priveau cu uimire.
En: On a winding road at the foot of the mountains, Andrei and Elena looked on in amazement.

Ro: Era o zi însorită, perfectă pentru o excursie școlară.
En: It was a sunny day, perfect for a school trip.

Ro: Clasa lor vizita Transfagarasanul, o minune a ingineriei românești.
En: Their class was visiting Transfagarasan, a marvel of Romanian engineering.

Ro: Elena era fascinată.
En: Elena was fascinated.

Ro: „Privește, Andrei!”, a spus ea.
En: “Look, Andrei!” she said.

Ro: „Ce drum incredibil.
En: “What an incredible road.

Ro: Știai că este unul dintre cele mai spectaculoase drumuri din lume?”
En: Did you know it’s one of the most spectacular roads in the world?”

Ro: Andrei zâmbi.
En: Andrei smiled.

Ro: „Da, domnul profesor ne-a spus dimineață.
En: “Yes, the teacher told us this morning.

Ro: Dar ce ți-a povestit bunicul tău despre construcția acestui drum?”
En: But what did your grandfather tell you about the construction of this road?”

Ro: Elena se gândi la bunicul ei.
En: Elena thought of her grandfather.

Ro: „Bunicul meu a muncit la construcția acestui drum.
En: “My grandfather worked on building this road.

Ro: Mi-a spus că a fost foarte greu.
En: He told me it was very difficult.

Ro: Munții erau periculoși, iar vremea schimbătoare.
En: The mountains were dangerous, and the weather was unpredictable.

Ro: Dar bunicul meu era mândru să ajute la făurirea acestui drum.”
En: But my grandfather was proud to help create this road.”

Ro: Profesorul le-a întrerupt conversația.
En: The teacher interrupted their conversation.

Ro: „Copii, veniti aici!
En: “Children, come here!

Ro: Vreau să vă spun câteva lucruri importante.
En: I want to tell you some important things.

Ro: Transfagarasanul a fost construit între 1970 și 1974.”

Ro: Elevii ascultau cu atenție.
En: The students listened attentively.

Ro: Profesorul zâmbi.
En: The teacher smiled.

Ro: „Da, Andrei.
En: “Yes, Andrei.

Ro: Muncitorii au avut multe provocări.
En: The workers faced many challenges.

Ro: Dar datorită lor, noi ne putem bucura astăzi de acest loc minunat.”
En: But thanks to them, we can enjoy this beautiful place today.”

Ro: Excursia continua.
En: The trip continued.

Ro: Grupul urca până la Bâlea Lac, unde peisajul era spectaculos.
En: The group climbed up to Bâlea Lake, where the scenery was spectacular.

Ro: Elena și Andrei se opresc să admire lacul.
En: Elena and Andrei stopped to admire the lake.

Ro: „Este așa frumos aici!”, spuse Elena.
En: “It’s so beautiful here!” said Elena.

Ro: „Da, este.
En: “Yes, it is.

Ro: Și gândindu-mă la bunicul tău, îmi dau seama cât efort a fost necesar,” adăugă Andrei.
