President, CEO, and veteran executive coach Maggie Craddock talks about her new book Lifeboat: Navigating Unexpected Career Change And Disruption. Maggie shares how transcending self-imposed limits can open a new door for everyone. During this time of COVID19, folks are losing or having to reevaluate their jobs. Craddock was a Lipper-Award winning portfolio manager of a flagship fund for a Wall Street investment firm. She sat in a glass-walled office overlooking the trading floor, made high-stakes decisions daily, and as a fund manager, always got to make the final decision. But with all of the power and success, she did not feel on top of the world.. Sh went home every day, sunken with anxiety and depression. She was emotionally drained until she took the time to examine her feelings and realized the dangerous mindset that permeated her work culture.

She departed from the company and made what she today refers to as a “Lifeboat Shift” to start her own executive coaching firm. She states that she had to change her mindset and job to align with their career values. She recognized that she was not living according to her authentic self and changed her attitude and approach to life and work. She began transcending her self-imposed limits and created a coaching business that guides Fortune 500 CEOs and senior management on using emotional agility to overcome their challenges.
