mostra di piùThis week it's all eyes on the second round of the NRL season which wrapped up on Sunday evening, with the Dolphins notching their first victory 38-0 over the St. George-Illawarra Dragons. Kempy and Marty go through the weekend round-up where they recap all eight matches and dig through the main talking points. A handful of teams including the top-of-the-table Canberra Raiders and Manly Sea Eagles are two from two and sit inside the top four, while the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Newcastle Knights - among others - are off to rocky starts with no wins to speak of.
After that, it's Up The Wahs, where Kempy and Marty dedicate an extended period of time talking all things Warriors. The Auckland-based club finds themselves in a hole just two weeks into this year's competition with no wins from two games, following their heartbreaking 30-26 defeat away to the Melbourne Storm. Up by eight points with three minutes to play, did the Warriors choke? Were there enough positives to take away from the contest? He's A Ledge also has a distinct Warriors flavour with current assistant coach and former Leeds head coach Richard Agar featuring as this episode's special guest.
Kempy and Marty go head-to-head debating a handful of rugby league topics, including if the Rabbitohs will be the big disappointment of 2024 and miss the finals, and where Raiders mentor Ricky Stuart sits in terms of all-time status - is he one of the game's greatest ever coaches? Kempy hands out the Effluex clean-up award for the player, coach or team who did their job better than anyone else on the weekend - someone who rolled up their sleeves and turned gunk into gold. And to finish things off, Kempy lists his five best teams in the NRL right now on TK's Top Five (spoiler alert, the Warriors aren't number one!).
