When it comes to dealing with “stuff” for most ... the idea of “negotiating” will most likely not be at the top of the list. And yet, you do it daily. Sometimes with others over meeting places and times; sometimes with a contract that you are considering; and sometimes with yourself. The Master Negotiator Greg Williams joins Dr. Judith Briles with a lively hour that includes: -Understand from the get-go what your “points of leverage” are. -Why you must bring “awareness” to your game. -Why the person who asks the most question is leading the negotiation. -How to handle a difficult person during a negotiation. -How to be ready to walk away BEFORE you say a word. -When you should walk away. -When to know how to use a “tit for tat” strategy that means you give up nothing or very little. -How you can tell what may be important to someone via the other side’s body language and nonverbal presence. -When you should mimic the body language or actions of the other side. -How to crack a stoic person you are attempting to negotiate with. -How you can improve your chances of getting a book deal through better negotiation efforts. -How to position yourself better before seeking or accepting an offer? -When should you back away from an offer or test its validity, and how is that negotiated? By listening to this informative and interactive interview, you will gain insight into all of the above. Join in ... you will learn a lot! If you don’t want you and your book and your author influence to be ignored, then the AuthorU-Your Guide to Book Publishing podcast is for you.
