We wrap up 2022 by revisiting our hangout on January 11, 2022! We had survivor of the Killing Fields of Cambodia, Sara Im, with us!
She talks about her 4 years of captivity, illnesses, torture, and escape during the reign of communism in Cambodia. It's an amazing story! Never losing hope, and faith during extremely dark times, and having the courage to survive! It's a great way to enter a new year with hope! Enjoy!

How does the Lounge keep getting amazing guests?! This week raises the bar! Sara Im, author of "How I Survived the Killing Fields-A Story of Hope, Love, and Determination," hangs out with the guys! Sara is a survivor of the Killing Fields in Cambodia in the 1970s.
She grew up in Cambodia and when she graduated high school, she got the chance to go to college, far from home. While there, the communist regime took over the country and started enslaving many people. Sara was part of those enslaved.

She had SO much detail and different events during her FOUR years of captivity! She talks about how a kitchen job saved her life! The fact she attempted to escape from her captives, only to not succeed. THEN what was it that made her finally decide to run for good?

Where did she go? How much planning went into the escape attempt? Was she ever able to find her parents? Was there a moment of hopelessness? WHAT A STORY!

Sara was a fantastic person to hang out with, in the Lounge! There were multiple times the guys were speechless, and we're pretty sure that's a first for the Lounge! Sam RARELY doesn't know what to say! You will not be upset or disappointed with her time spent with the guys!
