"The Three Kings" by E. Nesbit follows three kings from distant lands — one from Africa, one from the East, one from a cold northern kingdom — as they journey through forests, deserts, and stormy seas toward Bethlehem. When clouds hide the guiding star, doubt and despair threaten to turn them back. It is the humblest king, who travels on foot with only myrrh, whose quiet faith steadies the others and carries all three to the manger where they kneel before the newborn Christ.
