Aired: Oct 23rd, 1939. After Captain Midnight eludes aerial pursuit in a twisting arroyo, Ivan Shark instructs his henchman Von Whit to strike a remote mountain cabin where Ma and Patsy Donovan are staying. Shark plots to capture the occupants alive using a dud bomb as an opening warning, hoping to bait Captain Midnight into an inescapable trap. Meanwhile, Captain Midnight and Chuck leave Juan Pareda resting and slip down a mountain trail to check on their friends, only to discover an open doorway and an end of the cabin torn apart by an explosion. Finding the interior abandoned, the pair take shelter under low-hanging pine boughs in the dark, watching the surrounding hillside after spotting movement in the shadows. Transcript: Read transcript
