The frantic search for a submersible carrying five people aboard that went missing near the wreckage of the Titanic is still ongoing as the search and rescue teams use every tool in the toolbox to try and locate the missing explorers.
According to reports, the mothership lost contact with the submersible roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes into the descent. It has been radio silence since then. Rescue crews include the US Coast guard, the Canadian Coast guard and various private groups that have responded to the call for help.
The deepest rescue ever made at sea was at roughly 1600 feet. The Titanic rests a depths of more than 13K feet.
