Story Transcript:

Fr: Le soleil brille sur Paris, la capitale aux milles couleurs, bourdonnant d'animation. Dans ce grand bazar urbain, il y a une fille, Sophie. Et aussi un garçon, Pierre.
En: The sun shines on Paris, the capital of a thousand colors, buzzing with activity. In this bustling urban bazaar, there is a girl, Sophie. And also a boy, Pierre.

Fr: Sophie est une petite Parisienne, espiègle et vive d'esprit, et fière de connaître chaque recoin de la ville lumière. Pierre, par contre, vient d'une contrée lointaine, l'Amérique. C'est un grand garçon, un poil timide, et c'est sa première visite à Paris.
En: Sophie is a spirited and sharp-witted young Parisian, proud to know every corner of the City of Light. Pierre, on the other hand, comes from a distant land, America. He is a tall boy, a bit shy, and it is his first visit to Paris.

Fr: Sophie rencontre Pierre dans un café, près de la Seine. Elle aide Pierre, se sentant un peu perdu. Sophie est ravie d'être sa guide. Pierre est reconnaissant. Ils deviennent bons amis, explorant Paris ensemble.
En: Sophie meets Pierre in a café near the Seine. She helps Pierre, feeling a bit lost. Sophie is delighted to be his guide. Pierre is grateful. They become good friends, exploring Paris together.

Fr: Un jour, en se promenant dans un parc, Pierre voit un petit animal mignon grimpant à un arbre. Il le montre à Sophie et demande ce que c'est. "C'est un écureuil," dit Sophie. Pierre essaie de le dire aussi, mais à sa grande surprise, il n'y arrive pas.

Fr: "É....écur....elle," balbutie Pierre. Sophie rit. Pierre rougit, mais il se sent aussi déterminé. Il s’assoit sur un banc et répète encore et encore, "écureuil." Sophie, voyant sa détermination, décide de l'aider.
En: "S....sq...uir...rel," stammers Pierre. Sophie laughs. Pierre blushes, but he also feels determined. He sits on a bench and repeats over and over, "squirrel." Sophie, seeing his determination, decides to help him.

Fr: Sophie enseigne à Pierre le mot "écureuil" partout. Dans le métro alors qu'ils traversent le Seine. Au pied de la Tour Eiffel. Même Pierre est surpris de voir à quel point le mot "écureuil" se retrouve partout dans leur aventure parisienne.
