WEEK 16: DAY 5
THE MORE EXCELLENT WAY

1 Corinthians 12:31
But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces). And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one that is better by far and the highest of them all–love].

There is something about Love: its act and art just has a way of streaming through gifts and superseding them. It is an energy that pushes you towards a full race regardless of expertise.

No matter what, where or who you are standing for, when you have love, it opens you up to the portal of growth in being as well as doing.

However, it will be wrong to assume all idea of love is what Paul was referring to here.

1 Corinthians 14:1
Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does. Give yourselves to the gifts God gives you. Most of all, try to proclaim his truth. If you praise him in the private language of tongues, God understands you but no one else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him. But when you proclaim his truth in everyday speech, you're letting others in on the truth so that they can grow and be strong and experience his presence with you.

The most excellent way of Love is the Love of God that transcends to the love for men.

Please note, there is always that transcendence that your space/humanity must experience because of His Love in you/upon you.

There is a capacity to love and it is not assumed but experienced. You cannot give what you do not have - you can not excellently offer the way of Love if you have never experienced the Way of Love (God).

Psalm 91:14-16
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness–trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

So how do you have His Love to give it in your daily living? Simply by accepting it: it is in acceptance of His gift of Love wholly you set your love upon Him.

Luke 10:27
He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—and that you love your neighbour as well as you do yourself."

There is a system to this way of Love that makes it so excellent. It is in loving God you get to love yourself and only then, do you know how to rightly love your neighbours as much.

I pray that as you live life, you do it with the God of Love as you act with this resource in all your dealings and doings in Jesus name, amen.
