There are hundreds of cities in the American Midwest just like Circleville, Ohio. But what makes it truly unique, what the town is most well-known for, is a strange letter-writing campaign that spanned two decades and may have left at least one person dead.
The story began in March 1977 when the anonymous letter-writer penned a note to Westfall School District superintendent Gordon Massie, urging him to stop propositioning the female bus drivers that worked under him (an allegation that was never proven).
