There’s nothing more delicious than the cascading water of giving from the heart with no expectation of anything in return. Every mystic and saint will say enlightenment is about service, becoming a vessel of the divine, the wine forever flowing through an empty flask. In contrast, the ego’s purpose for giving is to get something in return because it always feels something is lacking. Giving from the heart will wash away the belief in lack.

The practice of mind training is about giving and forgiving. As you’re extending from the heart, everything that’s not giving is going to come up because those pipes are rusty from millennia of not giving. The anger, the guilt, the fear and shame, whatever is corroding those pipes, is going to come up. Mind training is about being of service and clearing the pipes when the corrosion comes up by being honest about what you’re experiencing so you can forgive it.
