Similar incidents have been reported in Sokoto, Kwara, Anambra, and Nasarawa States. report in the vanguard newspaper revealed that a family of five died on Sunday in a Sokoto village after consuming soup prepared with fertilizer mistaken for Monosodium Glutamate Seasoning substance (Farin Maggi)..
Recent statistics revealed that over 200,000 Nigerians die annually from food poisoning while 50 people are said to have died this year alone from food poisoning.
