Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá fuar geimhreadh a bhí ann, agus bhí gaoth láidir ag séideadh thar barr na haille.
En: It was a cold winter's day, and a strong wind was blowing over the cliffs.

Ga: Shocraigh triúr cairde, Seamus, Aoife, agus Conor, dul ar thuras go hAillte an Mhothair, áit a raibh radharcanna iontacha le feiceáil os cionn na farraige.
En: Three friends, Seamus, Aoife, and Conor, decided to go on a trip to Moher Cliffs, a place with wonderful views overlooking the sea.

Ga: Bhí Seamus ag caitheamh geansaí tiubh olla a bhí beagán ró-bheag dó ach bhí sé cinnte go mbeadh sé teolaí ann.
En: Seamus was wearing a tight, little sweater that was a bit too small for him but he was sure it would be warm.

Ga: Agus iad ag siúl in éadan na gaoithe, thosaigh Seamus ag mothú beagán te agus bhí sé ag iarraidh a gheansaí a bhaint.
En: As they walked against the wind, Seamus started feeling a little warm and wanted to take off his sweater.

Ga: Ach, och och!
En: But oh dear!

Ga: Níorbh fhéidir le Seamus an geansaí a bhaint thar a cheann.
En: Seamus couldn't take the sweater off his head.

Ga: Bhí sé greamaithe!
En: It was stuck!

Ga: Chuir Aoife agus Conor iarracht isteach freisin, ach bhí an geansaí ró-dhaingean.
En: Aoife and Conor tried to help as well, but the sweater was too tight.

Ga: Bhí Seamus ag éirí níos teo agus níos míchompordach.
En: Seamus was getting hotter and more uncomfortable.

Ga: "Conas is féidir linn Seamus a shaoradh ón geansaí seo?
En: "How can we free Seamus from this sweater?"

Ga: " arsa Aoife, í ag smaoineamh go crua.
En: said Aoife, thinking hard.

Ga: Chuir Conor moladh ar aghaidh.
En: Conor came up with a suggestion.

Ga: "Féach, tá feirmeoir in aice leis na haille.
En: "Look, there's a farmer near the cliffs.

Ga: Téanaigí, déanfaimid comhrá leis an bhfeirmeoir sin chun cabhair a fháil.
En: Let's go, we'll talk to that farmer to get some help."

Ga: "Chuadar go dtí an feirmeoir, a bhí ag obair lena chuid caorach go díograiseach.
En: They went to the farmer, who was working diligently with his sheep.

Ga: Nuair a chuala an feirmeoir faoi fhadhb Shéamus, rinne sé gáire beag agus dúirt, "Tá mé cleachtaithe le caoirigh a shaoradh as preabáin, ach is é seo mo chéad uair ag saoradh fear ó gheansaí!
En: When the farmer heard about Seamus's problem, he chuckled and said, "I'm used to freeing sheep from fences, but this is my first time freeing a man from a sweater!"

Ga: "Thug an feirmeoir scioból dóibh i gcás ina raibh siosúr mór tuí.
En: The farmer gave them a pair of large shears.

Ga: Go cúramach, ghearr sé síos ar imeall an gheansaí, ag coinneáil sábháilteacht Shéamus san áireamh.
En: Carefully, he cut down the edge of the sweater, keeping Seamus safe.

Ga: Faoi dheireadh, scaoil an geansaí agus tháinig Seamus amach, saor ar deireadh.
En: Finally, the sweater came off and Seamus came out, free at last.

Ga: Bhí faoisimh ar gach éinne, agus shuigh siad síos le scíth a ligean, ag féachaint amach os cionn an Aigéin Atlantaigh ón áit aoibhinn sin.
En: Everyone was relieved, and they sat down to relax, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean from that beautiful place.

Ga: "Ó amach anseo," arsa Seamus, "beidh mé cinnte de mo gheansaí a bheith oiriúnach dom sula dtéim amach!
En: "From now on," said Seamus, "I'll make sure my sweater is suitable for me before going out!"

Ga: "Bhain an triúr cairde taitneamh as an lá i ndiaidh na heachtra sin, agus d'fhoghlaim Seamus ceacht luachmhar maidir le bheith ullamh d'aon chás éigeandála – fiú má bhaineann sé le geansaí!
En: The three friends enjoyed the day after that event, and Seamus learned a valuable lesson about being prepared for any emergency – even if it involves a sweater!

Ga: Ag deireadh an lae, bhí siad uilig ag gáire faoin eachtra, agus bhí siad cinnte go mbeadh scéal grinn acu le hinsint ar feadh na mblianta atá le teacht.
En: At the end of the day, they all laughed about the incident, and they were sure they would have a funny story to tell for years to come.

Ga: Bhí teolaíocht, grá, agus gáire idir na cairde, agus cuimhní áille nua cruthaithe acu le chéile ag Aillte an Mhothair.
En: There was warmth, love, and laughter among the friends, and beautiful memories created together at Moher Cliffs.
