True story. When I got pregnant with my first child, I was writing young adult novels. I naively assumed that after she was born, I could simply put her in her infant seat where she would sit quietly while I toiled over the computer.
As you can imagine it took a minute for the real reality to set in. I needed a different strategy if I were to combine motherhood and career. It took me time to stumble my way through a plan that worked. In those dark days before the internet I mostly did it by myself without a lot of support.
