Hey Surfers and Beachgoers! Time to catch some gnarly waves with your surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Brownsville, Texas.
Today, we've got some exciting news for you - a Coastal Flood Warning and a High Surf Warning are in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening. So, hang ten carefully out there!
For today's surf report, we're looking at a high rip current risk, with surf heights reaching a whopping 12 to 15 feet! Extreme UV index and a thunderstorm potential are on the horizon, so keep an eye on the sky. The water is warm at 85 degrees, and the weather calls for partly sunny skies with showers and thunderstorms likely. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s, with windy conditions and east winds around 30 mph.
As night falls, the high rip current risk continues, with surf heights of 8 to 11 feet. The weather turns mostly cloudy until 9 PM, then partly cloudy with showers and a chance of thunderstorms. Low temperatures will be in the lower 80s, with breezy conditions and east winds around 25 mph.
Looking ahead to Friday, the high rip current risk persists, with surf heights ranging from 5 to 8 feet. The weather improves with mostly sunny skies, but showers and thunderstorms are still possible. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s, with east winds around 20 mph.
