Sonia Shah is an investigative journalist and author of critically acclaimed and prize-winning books on science, human rights, and international politics. Previous works include The Fever: How Malaria Has Ruled Humankind for 500,000 Years, The Body Hunters: Testing New Drugs on the World’s Poorest Patients and Crude: The Story of Oil. Her writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, Foreign Affairs and elsewhere, and she has been featured on current affairs programs such as RadioLab, Fresh Air with Terry Gross and other NPR shows, as well as on the BBC and Australia’s Radio National. Sonia is a popular public speaker - her TED talk on malaria has been viewed by over 900,000 people worldwide. Her new book, Pandemic: Tracking Contagions from Cholera to Ebola and Beyond, has been featured in Scientific American, Le Monde, Huffington Post, and the New York Academy of Medicine.
