Bloober Team developed the next survival horror game, Silent Hill 2, which Konami published. It is a remake of the 2001 video game Silent Hill 2 Remake, developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo's Team Silent division (KCET). Since Silent Hill: Downpour was released in 2012, this will be the first major installment in the Silent Hill series. It is centered around widower James Sunderland (Luke Roberts), much like the first game, who returns to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his late wife Mary saying she is waiting for him. The official announcement of the Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date came in October 2022, following months of speculation and leaks.
