In this interview, Matthew Rix sits down with Scout from Scouts & The Saints for a real, no polish conversation about faith, family, and loud guitars.
If the band looks familiar, that’s because you’ve probably seen them backing up Mac Powell on tour. Scout is his daughter, and growing up in a music business household shaped both her faith and her calling. But this isn’t about riding anyone’s coattails. Scouts & The Saints are building their own lane, fueled by conviction, sweat, and a sound that’s unapologetically rough around the edges.
They talk about why the band exists in the first place: to bring Jesus to people who might never step foot in a church, to meet crowds where they are, and to prove that Christian rock doesn’t have to be clean-cut or comfortable. Scout opens up about what it was like growing up around stages, buses, and backstage prayer circles, and how that upbringing sharpened her understanding of both the beauty and the cost of a life in music.
The conversation also looks ahead. New music, bigger stages, and a clear sense of purpose drive what’s next for the band. One thing is certain: the future is loud, honest, and faithful. This is the story of the greatest and dirtiest Christian rock band to come out of Georgia, and they’re just getting started.
