Today’s guests are Sarah Halpin, Mim Walker-Khan, and Anita Abayomi. You might recognise Sarah from Everton FC’s content as she’s a fierce Toffee and one of the matchday presenters. She’s also a ‘Best in Women’s Football content’ 2020 FCA Silver Award winner and a brilliant speaker. Currently spearheading BBC Sport’s Black History Month content, Mim strongly advocates for women of colour in her work as a freelance journalist and has also written for gal-dem magazine, the Guardian, Dazed, and the IAAF. Writer and presenter Anita co-founded Goal Diggers UK – England’s first black female-led football podcast - and has featured on Sky Sports, Nike, The Athletic, and more. They were all tasked with giving a Ted-Style talk on their burgeoning football careers – the highlights, the realities, and how you can follow in their footsteps. Sarah tackled presenting; Mim’s subject was writing, and Anita focused on podcasting. These talks took place in person in West London and here are the highlights.
